How to find The Gallery, Alan Baxter Associates:
On leaving Farringdon Underground (old) station (not the Turnmill Street exit) turn left – or when leaving Farringdon Main Line (new) station, turn right – walk east 150 yards towards the ‘SnappySnaps’ shop. The entrance to the Gallery is opposite; walk through the large gates and across the courtyard to the far end, turn right down the steps and you’re there!
Picturedrome Bognor in its 100th Year
I have been approached by the Picturedrome Operations Manager Spencer Clark to help them celebrate the Picturedrome’s centenary. Although the actual birthday has passed, Operator Adam Cunard was keen not to let this milestone pass and there will be events planned for Friday 17 January with a period film show and an exhibition of cinema memorabilia.
At the moment the planning is on-going and the film and
the events are still being selected by the management team. In order to
publicise the event and secure seats for the CTA on the evening of 17
January, this trailer is being advertised in this final Bulletin of 2019.
The Picturedrome
is a wonderful period cinema and extra screens have
been added recently in keeping with its historic listed status.
For more information as to what’s planned please send SAE to: David
Eve, CTA Wessex, Far Ends, 28 Courtenay Road, Lower Parkstone,
BH14 0HD. Please include your email address and telephone number
for updates. It will be the start of December before I will be in touch.
Forthcoming Visits & Events
The Cinema Theatre Association organises visits to cinemas and theatres, past and present, across the UK and overseas. Lectures and other events feature in our programme of activities too. These are usually for members only, so why not join?

A Brooklyn Bite of the Big Apple
Illustrated talk by Cezar Del Valle
Saturday 28 March - STOP PRESS
It is with regret that due to the ongoing and worsening situation of the COVID-19 virus, this forthcoming illustrated talk has been cancelled.
After much deliberation we are extremely disappointed that this action has had to be taken, but unknown future problems with flights from & back to New York, and the health crisis, have made this event untenable at this time. Cezar promises that he will reschedule the talk later in the Autumn when hopefully the situation will be back to normal.
Coming June 2020
Movie Magic 'Round The Moor'
The week-long tour, planned for the first week in June 2020 has also had to be cancelled.
The organiser hopes that it can be rescheduled at some time in the future.
Porto
An up-date from Ray Ritmeester & Mark Price (Jan 2019)
We have been liaising with ‘Travel Editions’ and making reasonable progress with our trip to Porto. Unfortunately the cost of the trip, plus hotels within our price range for our proposed September 2019 visit is almost impossible to find. The poor exchange rate with the Euro is also proving a major obstacle.
The latest issue of the ‘BULLETIN’ advertising the Porto visit unfortunately went to press before we had time to amend the item.
